Hello. Long time, no blog. I know, it’s been weird for me also, not spewing my random thoughts to the internet on a regular. A LOT has been going on, and blogging kind of fell by the wayside. BUT, I am back, and today I’m introducing you to possibly the biggest thing that has happened over the last couple of months.
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know my family lost our dog, Stanley, in July. It was awful and heartbreaking and I’m still not okay. We weren’t planning on getting another canine for a while, but our house felt too quiet and lonely so one summer night, after a few gins, we found a puppy. This is her, when my parents visited her for the first time:
My mum decided she was called TILLY, short for Matilda. A very appropriate name given that one of my favourite literary characters also shares that name.
After what felt like an age, we picked Tilly up. This is her–small, shy and cuddly–just after we arrived home:
And now, months later, our tornado of chaos looks like this:
She’s tall and lanky, loves chewing, and will destroy any plant she comes across. She’s amazing and hilarious and an absolute monster and she has made all our lives happier. Normal bookish content will resume soon, but first I wanted to share Tilly, because she is genuinely the best.
