1 // Best book I’ve read so far in 2019
I’m going to break the rules and pick two. Wildspark by Vashti Hardy and The Star Spun Web by Sinead O’hart.
2 // My favourite sequel of the first half of the year
It has to be Wundersmith by Jessica Townsend.
3 // A new release I haven’t read yet but I’m really excited about
Rumblestar by the fabulous Abi Elphinstone
4 // Most anticipated release for the second half of 2019
Top Marks for Murder by Robin Stevens–I can’t wait to see what shenanigans Hazel and Daisy get up to next.
5 // Biggest disappointment
It’s probably the book I’m reading at the moment–The Awakening of Miss Prim by Natalia Sanmartin Fenollera. It’s a translated book and I’m not sure whether that’s the reason, but I really can’t get into it.
6 // Biggest surprise
Max Einstein: The Genius Experiment by by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. The little boy I babysit for lent me his copy and I devoured it. Girls in STEM are the best.
7 // Favourite new-to-me or debut author
I ADORED The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. It was everything I love in a mystery, and a must read for YA fans who adore true crime.
8 // Favourite fictional crush
This is probably because I just watched the 2005 Pride and Prejudice adaptation, but Mr Darcy, always and forever.
9 // New favourite character
Vita Marlowe from Katherine Rundell’s triumphant The Good Thieves. She’s so sassy and I love it.
10 // A book that made me cry
The Radium Girls by Kate Moore–a non-fiction book detailing the appalling illnesses that afflicted many working-class women because of their work with radium. It’s devastating and inspiring all at once.
11 // A book that made me happy
Over the Moon by the brilliant Natalie Lloyd. Natalie’s writing always fills me with hope, and this was her best yet.
12 // Favourite book to movie/TV show of the year so far
Good Omens. It was gleefully magnificent and I can’t wait to re-watch it.
13 // Favourite post I’ve written this year
Probably this one. The combination of my two favourite interests.
14 // Most beautiful book I’ve acquired in the first half of 2019
LOOK AT THIS GLORIOUS COVER:
15 // The books I have to read before the end of 2019
SO MANY, and also none at all. I’m trying to take a more mindful approach to reading–reading things that I feel like, and not forcing myself to “have” to read anything.
Radium Girls was haunting and it’s stayed with me. Tragic and systemic disregard for women.

I didn’t do the tag, and I think I’ve only read one book in common with you (The Good Thieves was a FANTASTIC heist story and I love Vita so much), but I’m glad you had a good reading time and hopefully the rest of the year is also good!
