*I have been NON-STOP listening to Shake It Off by Taylor Swift lately – seriously that song is sosososo catchy! This lyric makes me laugh because I am currently (because of my evil knee of doom) not very quick, anyhow that is the story of the blog title.
Currently Listening: Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. Again & Again & Again & Again. Oh and Christmas songs.
Currently re-watching: 30 Rock. Seriously the best TV show ever. SUCK IT NERDS!!!
Currently snuggling up to this cutie pie:
Hello friends. I hope this blog post finds you well, sipping tea and reading a really good book. I unfortunately am still battling through the dreaded reading slump (I have SO many good books to read and I just can’t do it at the moment). However, in order to make up for the slump I have been very productive in other ways:
1) I am doing the #SeptWritingChallenge on Twitter, which I love because it’s great to keep track of wordcount & it’s so inspiring to see loads of other writers and their wordcounts. My redraft of my SPOOKY GHOST STORY is coming along nicely and I am hoping to get the bulk of it done before September ends.
2) I am currently absolutely LOVING doing my Wreck This Journal. If you haven’t heard of it, here is the description from Amazon :
“Think of Wreck This Journal as the anarchist’s Artist’s Way — the book for those who’ve always wanted to draw outside the lines but were afraid to do it.
For anyone who’s ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book featuring a subversive collection of suggestions, asking readers to muster up their best mistake – and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them).
Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in “destructive” acts – poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more – in order to experience the true creative process. With Keri Smith’s unique sensibility, readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.”
Essentially it’s a great way to get creative and do some art. These are a few pages I’ve done recently:
3) It is 100 days exactly till CHRISTMAS. I am a massive Christmas nerd & am all ready WAY to excited for a 21yr old to be a hundred days before Christmas. I have got a countdown on my phone set up & today I set up my playlist on my ipod.
Have a spectacularly fantastic Tuesday everyone :).
