February.

Is anyone else completely floored that it is already March? It only seems like the sparkle of Christmas and New Years was a heartbeat ago.

February was a bit of a strange month for me. I STILL cannot seem to shake this cold of mine, am seriously fed up of Winter and had a tonne of Uni work and stress to deal with over this month.

However, it wasn’t a bad one. My baby sister turned fourteen (which is crazy because sometimes I still feel like I’m fourteen. I had a lovely Valentines day, which for all the commercial ramifications and the forever alone Facebook posts, is really just a day to show the people you love that you care about them – which is such an important thing to do! Overall, February was a goodun, and now that March is here spring should  (Come ON English weather!) be round the corner.

I read quite a few books over February.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows finished off my HP marathon, and as always made me laugh, cry and feel seriously nostalgic when I would stay up all night reading the newest installment in the series.

Cress was a brilliant addition to the already superb Lunar Chronicles. It was action packed, the plot twisted and turned and it was just a really, really good read. I am very excited for the final book in the series, Winter.

The Snow Child was a delightful read. It was really a story of sorrow and loss, with the fairytale elements intertwined with the grief of an childless married couple. If you like poetic writing, this one’s for you.

Finally, I read A Snicker of Magic, a great MG fantasy debut. This was sparklingly amazing, and I will have a review up soon!.

I whizzed through 30 Rock, which is one of my absolute FAVOURITE TV shows in February, and it was perfect and cemented it in my heart. In the immortal words of Liz Lemon:

I also finished the first season of Game of Thrones, and now I completely understand why everybody has been going on about it for the past three years – I am hooked!

Finally, this month I started making videos on my YouTube channel again. It’s so much fun, and I make a whole host of bookish videos. If you want to check it out, its here.

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous February, and I hope your March is amazing!

Laura 🙂

  1. I agree, this year is going way too fast! I’m still trying to get over the fact that Christmas has been and gone, never mind the fact that we’re fast approaching Spring!
I hope that you feel better soon, and that Uni work isn’t too much of a pain. I have three essays to write this coming month, so I feel your pain!
I’ve had The Snow Child sitting on my shelf for the longest time, so I really need to get around to reading it soon! 🙂
I’ve really been enjoying watching your YouTube videos too, looking forward to seeing more of them this month 🙂
Hope that you’re having a lovely week, and I apologise for the long comment, haha 🙂 xxx

    1. Don’t apologise – I LOVE long comments. Ahh thank you – I’m really enjoying making them, although it was so so scary at first. I so enjoyed The Snow Child – it was sitting on my shelf for ages too! Ahh – essays are killing me at the moment – hope yours is going ok! 🙂
