I feel like I haven’t participated in a Read-a-thon for SO long, and even though this week I should really be concentrating on Uni work, I just couldn’t pass up the chance to get ahead on my Goodreads goal for 2014!
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
So on with my goals!
Time Devoted to Reading
My goal is to read a little everyday, although how well that’s going to go depends on my Uni workload.
My Goals
- Get halfway through my audiobook of Mansfield Park.
- Finish my re-read of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Get 150 pages into Graceling
- Get 200 pages into The First Phone Call from Heaven
- Start my re-read of The BFG
I think those goals are pretty manageable, so here’s hoping this week goes well!
Updates
Monday (I am posting this at quarter to ten in the morning though so not much reading has been done!)
Number of books I’ve read today: 0 (although I have listened to half an hour of Mansfield Park)
Total number of books I’ve read:0

Mondays Challenges/ Giveaways
Today’s challenge comes from Bookish Comforts and it is to make a bookish wishlist on the book depository and screenshot in with $100 giftcard (which roughly translates to £61). Here is my screenshot:
It’s a little fuzzy, but my books are:
The Minpins by Roald Dahl
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
The Hundred Year Old Man by Jonas Jonasson
The Assassins Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepeteys
The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom
Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy by Karen Foxlee
Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
The next challenge is Mad Libs which is hosted by Cheap Thrills. This challenge looks so much fun so I am going to try and fit it in tonight after uni!
That is it for my first post on the Bout of Books – I will update you with my progress tomorrow!
This is such a fun idea! I’ve always wanted to do a readathon but I’ve never had the time to. Good luck though! I hope you achieve your goals 🙂
Thank you!
Good luck this week! Fangirl made my dream list for today’s challenge too. 🙂 Happy Reading! <a href="http://www.loveliferead.com/2014/01/bout-of-books-90-goals.html"My Goals & Updates
