Top Ten Tuesday: the top ten books I’d like to be made into a movie/tv show

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week we do a bookish top ten and this week its the top ten books we’d like to see made into a movie or TV show.

Shadow & Bone/Siege & Storm by Leigh Bardugo – Ahh can you imagine how cool the Russian inspired country would look? It would be a feast for my eyes! I definitely see this series as a movie trilogy.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare – I really enjoyed the City of Bones movie but after reading TMI this summer I am DYING to see it in all its Victorian glory!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – This would be visually STUNNING as a film. The circus, its attractions, Widget & Poppets hair, Marco and Celia – it would be beautiful. Somebody please make this happen.

The Diviners by Libba Bray – 1920’s New York? YES PLEASE! I would love to see all the flapper dresses and I think the supernatural element would be SO cool to see.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane  by Neil Gaiman – because this is Neil Gaiman its probably already a thing but I would love to see this strange, creepy little tale on the big screen.

Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver – I would love to see an animation of this book. I think it would fit really well into a Toy Story esque film!

The Peculiar by Stefan Bachmann – Faery London. Does that not scream blockbuster??  I would love to see this done in a eerie, Tim Burton-y way – I think that would fit really well with the story!

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman – There hasn’t been a really great dragon film in such a long time! Seraphina is an AMAZING book that would really translate well to screen – and also its female led which doesn’t happen as often as it should!

The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand – This is a great creepy MG novel that would make an amazing film. I can imagine the horrid Miss Cavendish and all the bugs crawling across the screen!

And finally…

The Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver – I was SO excited for this TV show and then it didn’t happen! Still got my fingers crossed for it to happen though – come on TV execs!!!

  1. Oh yes! The Peculiar would make an amazing movie. I don’t know if I could handle all the bug scenes if they turned Cavendish Home into a movie. *Shudders*

  2. The Night Circus! A hunded ‘yes’-es for that one! It will be so fun to watch Marco & Celia and other characters in action when they’re playing their tricks or shows.
I’d love to see Delirium on screen as well, but I think it would be better as a movie, not a TV show… (And thank God they cancelled the show because I just couldn’t see Emma Roberts as Lena! :p)

    1. Ahhh yes – their magic would look SO cool! I generally think most books fit movies better then TV shows – but I would have loved to have seen that world brought to life! 🙂
