I feel like its been ages since I did my last Top Ten Tuesday! It is a weekly book meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this weeks top ten is the top ten debuts that you are most looking forward to in 2013! Now, I wish I could do the top ten debuts, but as I am currently a very broke university student with a very ill bank balance and have banned myself from buying any books for the foreseeable future, I’m going to do a little twist. So, drum roll please…..The Top Ten Books that I haven’t read that have been on my bookshelf for centuries!
- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – Hopefully this won’t be unread for me for much longer as I am planning to read it next! Its a classic that I have wanted to read for ages and I really want to watch those cool looking YouTube videos about the book too! And the movie with Anne Hathaway! And the Colin Firth TV adaption.
- Double Cross by Malorie Blackman – I read and devoured and loved the first three books in the noughts and crosses series when I was younger, but even though I have had the fourth on my shelf for nearly a year, I just haven’t got round to reading it! I want to do a big series re-read, but noughts and crosses is really sad and emotional and I kind of need to hype myself up for it! Will hopefully be checking this one off my list in 2013!
- The Casual Vacancy by J. K Rowling – I know, I know – I still haven’t read the Queen of Amazingness’s latest offering. I’m a bad, bad fan.
- The Catcher in The Rye by J. D Salinger – Another Classic. I have a very bad habit of buying classics and been like ‘I will read this because I am an intellectual person’ then re-reading Percy Jackson for the millionth time.
- The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy Sequels by Douglas Adams – My dad and I spotted these in some random shop and I had no money and I begged him to get them for me. And I still haven’t read them – this is why I need a book ban!!
- The Discworld Novels by Terry Pratchett – There are so many Discworld books but they are all so good! I have over ten on my shelf that haven’t been read!
- The Song of Fire and Ice Series by George R. R. Martin – Its the same with these – too many books so little time!
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo – Seen the musical – loved it. Seeing the film on Thursday. Still haven’t read the book!!
- War and Peace, The Great Gatsby, Mansfield Park, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Hunchback of Notre Dame – I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CLASSICS!!!
- Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother The Official Biography by William Shawcross – Ok so I started reading this in June on a jubilee high, its really interesting and good and I still haven’t finished it!!
I hoped you liked my slightly different top ten this week. Hopefully I’ll get to do next weeks, that is if I haven’t gone crazy with coursework!

Looks like a good start for a 2013 reading challenge.
Haha – It does!
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books, and I’ve been wanting to read Pride & Prejudice. Les Mis is a good book, but it is quite different from the musical (which I adore)! 🙂 My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/debuts/

Love your list!! I wish I could buy all of them. I’ve had To Kill a Mockingbird for so long now! I can’t wait to read it! 🙂
