Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett book review

Wyrd Sister’s is part of the very sucessful Discworld series, and I have to say this is my favourite book so far. Granny Weatherwax may be my favourite character ever. The summary on Goodreads is as follows:

‘Witches are not by nature gregarious, and they certainly don’t have leaders. Granny Weatherwax was the most highly-regarded of the leaders they didn’t have. But even she found that meddling in royal politics was a lot more difficult than certain playwrights would have you believe…’

Basically Wyrd Sisters is Pratchett’s comic retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, complete with murder, mad kings and of course witches. Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors and he pulls no punches with Wierd Sisters, its laugh out loud funny from the first page to the last. I found it a much easier read then The Colour of Magic – the first Discworld book,so if your thinking of starting the series this might be a nice first book.
